Mrs. Hazel K. Welker, 83, of Astoria, died at 9:11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 1979, at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville. She had been in failing health for the past two years.
She was born Dec. 15, 1895, near Bader, a daughter of Charles F. and Olive May Stambaugh Long. On Mar. 14, 1925, in Peoria, she was married to John R. Welker. He preceded her in death on June 22, 1954.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mrs. Bessie Long of Astoria, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Arlen Longanecker officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.
