Victor Vanell

Victor L. Vanell, 93, of Pasadena, Calif., formerly of Bushnell and Vermont, died at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004, at his home.

He was born Oct. 20, 1910, in Terre Haute, Ind., a son of Alvin and Mary Jane McWilliams Vanell. He married Lucille France Talbott on July 5, 1964, in Pasadena. She died Oct. 18, 1995.

He also was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Carla Talbott of Palo Alto, Calif., and Lona Jo Wait of Springfield, Mo.; one stepson, Jan William Talbott of Pasadena; two sisters, Helen Hill of Pennsylvania and Mary Jane (and Ed) Sales of Pasadena; and five stepgrandchildren.

He was a line gang foreman for CIPS Co. and later was a mechanic in the new structures development section of Lockheed Aircraft Co. for more than 37 years, retiring in 1978.

He was a member of Rising Sun Christian Church in Russellville.

Cremation was accorded. Graveside services with burial of ashes will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Astoria Cemetery with Rev. Marian Stone officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava is in charge of local arrangements.
