She was born Jan. 13, 1950, in Beardstown, a daughter of Glen Jr. and Ruby Ellen Miller Smith. She married Stanley Thomas on Sept. 25, 1970. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Paul T. Thomas; one daughter, Rebecca E. Thomas Steele; one sister, Connie S. Surratt; two brothers, Ricky (and Emily) Smith and Randy (and Natalia) Smith; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She worked as a nurses aid and later in housekeeping at Henry County Memorial Hospital.
Services were held July 5 at Rose City Funeral Home in New Castle, Ind., with Pastor Phil Morgan officiating. Burial was at Green Hills Cemetery in New Castle.
