She was born Jan. 29, 1935, in Astoria, a daughter of Ivan “Ike” and Anna Grove Thompson. She married Gerald H. Tomlinson on Sept. 28, 1952, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2016.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathy Bussell and Michael of Panama City, Fla., and Debra Bennett-Tomlinson and Larry and Vicky Marquis and John, all of Rushville; four grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Neely.
Joan and her husband owned and operated Tomlinson Mobile Home Sales and Tomlinson Trailer Court for many years.
A private family graveside service will be held with burial to follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.
