Jan ThompsonJan Elizabeth Thompson, 50, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Rushville, died at 4:58 a.m. April 11, 2020, at her home.

She was born Sept. 28, 1969, in Rushville, a daughter of Albert and Mary Shoopman Thompson.

Surviving are her partner, Danielle Doerfler of St Louis, Mo.; one sister, Candy (and Jon) Ackman of Rushville; two brothers, Scott (and Ruth) Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mark (and Lori) Thompson of Augusta; one stepbrother, Doug (and Jill) Knous of Lawrenceville, Ga.; four nephews; four nieces; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, James “Bruiser” Knous; one infant brother, Jeffery Thompson; and her grandparents.

A 1987 graduate of Rushville High School, she received her degree from Illinois State University. She worked for Enterprise Holdings for 23 years, most recently as an IT Senior Project Manager.

She was an active supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, specifically the Gateway Chapter of St Louis, as well as Mid America Transplant Services and an advocate for organ donation. She was an active mentor with the lung transplant group at Barnes Hospital. She grew up as a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Rushville.

Burial will follow at the Rushville City Cemetery with Father Adam Stimpson officiating. The Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
