Marjorie TysonMarjorie Lou Tyson, 88, of Rushville died at 2:11 p.m. March 7, 2019, at Bickford Manor in Macomb.

She was born Dec. 12, 1930, in Rushville, the daughter of Vaughn and Mabel Ritchey Anderson. She married Jimmie Tyson on May 27, 1951, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2016.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann Young of New Berlin and Leah (and Randy) Skiles of Industry; one brother, Robert Anderson and family of Colorado; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Rushville High School with the class of 1948. She assisted her husband with his State Farm Insurance business before becoming an LPN at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Rushville First United Methodist Church. She was the first woman in the Rushville community to complete her private pilot’s license. She was a member of the Central Illinois Chapter of the International Ninety-nines Women’s Pilot Organization.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Randy McGeehon officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
