She was born July 12, 1936, in Fulton County, a daughter of Cecil L. and Margaret E. Krider Bainter. She married Herschel Dean Thompson on April 5, 1956, in Lewistown. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2005.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Bainter and Robert Bainter.
Surviving are three children, Susan (and Jack) Hunkeapillar of Ipava and Sara (and Lindell) Bainter and Brian (and Melissa) Thompson, both of Lewistown; one sister, Joan Heffren of Canton; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
She worked for 22 years at the former Clarytona Nursing Home in Lewistown. She was a member of Lewistown United Methodist Church.
Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Shane Smith officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
