Randy TolandRandy Toland, 69, of Rushville died at 5:15 a.m. May 15, 2017, at his home.

He was born Oct. 3, 1947, in Rushville, a son of Kenneth Raymond and Leona G. “Gerry” (Roudebush) Toland. He married Teresa Greenlee on Aug. 30, 1996, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Angie Toland (and friend Derek) of Paloma, Barbara (and David) Rowland of Quincy and Catherine (and Darin) Green of Lincoln; one sister, Donna Bollinger of Browning; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Kenny Lee Toland.

He was a 1965 graduate of Rushville High School. After high school, he worked at his family’s service station Toland’s Skelly Service.

From 1966-72 during the Vietnam Era, he served in the United States Navy. After returning to Rushville, he worked for three years at Rushville Motors. He then began farming, first for Brines Strong for four years and later 12 years for Wayne Wheelhouse. He later drove a truck for Dave Clinard Truck Service for 12 years until retiring.

He was a member of the Rushville Fire Department for seven years, Schuyler American Legion Post #4 for over 47 years and the Schuyler Voiture 40et8 #1100 for 39 years.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Jason Triplett officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Navy Honors Detail and the Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice.
