Vera TurnerVera I. Turner, 92, a resident of Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba, formerly of Smithfield, died at 9 a.m. Dec. 19, 2015, at the nursing home.

She was born May 13, 1923, in rural Fulton County, a daughter of Carl and Myrtle Rauch Chambers. She married Richard R. Turner on June 21, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1994.

She also was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis (and Kathy) Turner of Lewistown and Gary (and Joyce) Turner of Smithfield; one sister, Marjorie (and Kenneth) Stevens of Good Hope; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker, farm wife and care taker of many family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Reverend Larry Wright officiating. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday at the memorial home.
