Julia Trone

Julia TroneJulia Christine Trone, 40, of Petersburg died Feb. 22, 2013.

She was born June 27, 1972, in Springfield, the daughter of Robert E.L. "Moon" and Carrol Von Dissen Trone.

Surviving are her mother, Carrol Trone of Petersburg; aunts, Betty Phillips, Marlene (and Tom) Spears, Elizabeth Trone, Kay Trone and Karen Trone; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. L. "Moon" Trone; her grandparents, Doane and Mabel Trone and Leland and Ione Von Dissen; and uncles, Dennis R. Trone and D. Kent Trone.

She graduated from PORTA High School in Petersburg, and received her bachelor of arts in political science at Western Illinois University in Macomb. She became a Certified Family and Workplace Mediator through the Academy of Family Mediators. She also received a Certificate of Achievement with high honors in Community Police Officer Training and a Certificate in Law Enforcement at Lincoln Land Community College.

She was the Disciplinarian at Lincoln Community High School in Lincoln. When she was younger, she spent summers working with her father and uncle on the Talisman Riverboat and Steamboat Julia Belle Swain.

She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Petersburg. She also was a member of United States Equestrian Federation, United States Dressage Federation, (serving on the Awards council for nine years), Arabian Horse Association, Centerline Dressage, Central Illinois Mustangers, (serving on the Board of Directors for two years) and Mustang Club of America, (serving on the Board of Directors for two years). She was a past member of Illinois Dressage and Combined Training and Sigma Lambda Sigma Sorority.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Petersburg, with burial in Rushville City Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Menard County 4-H Horse Program.
