Lillian ThompsonLillian C. Thompson, 81, of Rushville died at 11:50 p.m. Dec. 16, 2012, at her home.

She was born Sept. 29, 1931, in Beardstown, a daughter of Willard and Amanda Anderson Luttrell. She married Dwight Leslie Thompson on March 17, 1950, in Virginia. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1992.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Charlotte Jones; two sisters, Lavina Dailey and Alice McKnight; and one brother, Dale Luttrell.

Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne (and Jim) Woodruff and Lori (and Tom) Swan, both of Rushville; two sisters, Lois Matthews of Macomb and Anne Parks of Rushville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She worked as a waitress at Vic's Cafe and Schuyler American Legion Post #4. She and her husband later owned and operated the Corner Cafe, where she was known for her homemade tenderloins. Later, she was a secretary for her husband's business Dwight's Service.

She was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4 Auxiliary in Rushville, Walter Black VFW Auxiliary in Beardstown and Women's Bowling Association.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
