He was born April 17, 1928, in Industry, a son of Manford J. and Margaret Yaap Toland. He married Norma Robinson on Sept. 28, 1946, at Ebenezer Church parsonage in McDonough County. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald “R.T.” (and Honey Hilliard) Toland of Augusta, and Jerry (and Cathie) Toland of Bryan, Texas.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Toland.
He was a farmer and worked for 25 years in the maintenance department at NTN Bower until retiring due to declining health in 1992.
Cremation has been accorded. Services will be held at a later date. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
