Karen TrillingKaren Joy Thompson Trilling, 50, of Frederick died at 7:50 a.m. May 25, 2010, at Synder Vaughn Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

She was born Dec. 5, 1959, in Rushville, a daughter of Forrest “Hoatsie” and Joyce Pryor Thompson. She married Gary Trilling on Oct. 18, 2003, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are three stepchildren, Kim Trilling of Columbus, Ind., and Kristin Trilling and Alex Trilling of North Vernon, Ind.; one step grandchild Trisha Crew of Columbus, Ind.; two brothers, William (and Ginger) Thompson of Smithfield and Chris Krouch of Henderson, Nev.; four sisters, Jane (and Randy) Billingsley of Jacksonville, Fla., Sandra (and Duane) Ganther of East Lamoine, Tamra Cowen of Chatham and Lisa (and Bill) Roberts of Rushville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Thompson.

She graduated from Rushville High School in 1978, and Spoon River College as an LPN in 1983.

She worked at Beardstown Hospital from 1983 to 1985, and then at Snyder Vaughn Haven Nursing Home from 1985 to present.

A celebration of her life will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville.
