Barbara I. Thompson, 81, of Vermont died at 7:25 a.m. April 8, 2009, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born Oct. 28, 1927, in Macomb, a daughter of Jesse Howard and Ruby Madge Williams Heaton. She married Gilbert C. Thompson on Feb. 1, 1947, in Quincy. He died Jan. 24, 1990.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Heaton; and one sister, Waneta Heaton Hubbard.
Surviving are two sons, David (and Jackie) Thompson of Macomb and Daniel Thompson of Vermont; one daughter, Terry Thompson of Virginia Beach, Va.; and one brother, Kendall (and Carol) Heaton of Texas.
She lived in Macomb before moving to Vermont in 1975. She worked for Eagle Foods in Macomb for 25 years, before retiring in 1992.
She was a member of McDonough County Genealogical Society.
Graveside services were held Friday at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb with Sue Adams officiating. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.
