He was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Schuyler County, a son of Bearl and Myrtle Sours Trone. He married Rubie M. Hale on April 14, 1946, in Beardstown. She preceded him in death on March 14, 1995. He later married Darlene Burnside Bubb on June 7, 1996, in Rushville. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Rick Trone of Santa Cruz, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Caryl (and Jeff) Lasswell of Astoria; two brothers, Herschel (and Eva) Trone of Rushville and Allen (and Sandy) Trone of Steger; one sister, Margaret (and Harlin) Terry of Littleton; one grandson; and one step-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred “Mick” Danner.
He worked for Schuyler-Brown FS for 40 years, retiring as a manager in 1990. He later was a driver and assistant with Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville from 1991 to 2004.
He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville. He served as an alderman on Rushville City Council. He was a member of a bowling league for many years.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Fred Fritz officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.
