Ralph Thompson Jr.Ralph James Thompson Jr., 57, of Rushville, died at 12:14 p.m. Nov. 3, 2006, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

He was born Aug. 25, 1949, in Rushville, a son of Ralph James Sr. and Marion Cooper Thompson. He married Janene Schramm on Feb. 28, 1969, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother; one daughter, Nikki (and Randy) Rittenhouse of Rushville; one sister, Donna Vancil of Rushville; one half brother, Alan (and Patricia) Thompson of Hamilton, Mont.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; and one half sister, Leann Fretueg.

He graduated from Rushville High School in 1967 and Quincy Technical School in 1968. He was a licensed plumber for Thompson Plumbing & Heating for many years, was an independent plumber and worked for Wells Construction for six years, until retiring in 2003 for health reasons.

He was a Rushville volunteer fireman for 16 years, a member of Rushville Lodge #9, AF & AM, and was a past member of the Rushville Moose Lodge #506.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Worthington Funeral Home with David Haney officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 8 p.m. by Rushville Lodge #9, AF & AM. Inurnment will be in Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his grandchildren's education fund c/o Schuyler State Bank.
