Leta Trimpe

Leta M. Trimpe, 97, of Havana died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born Dec. 20, 1906, in Radcliffe, Iowa, a daughter of Henry August and Minnie (Schierbeck) Wendt. She married Clarence Trimpe on Feb. 12, 1925, in Havana. He died Jan. 31, 1948.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Paul; three sisters; and one brother.

Surviving are one son, William of Havana; three daughters, Marilyn (and John "Bud") McCoy of Washington, Jo Ann (and Dwayne) Taylor of Bath, and Norma Jean (and James) Meehan of Astoria; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Wendt of Havana; and one sister, Lucille Trimpe of Havana.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana, its Ladies Aid, its Altar Guild and MEB Birthday Club.

Services were held Tuesday at her church with Rev. Martin Liebmann officiating. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana was in charge of arrangements.
