Linda Thomas

Linda Thomas, 58, of Rushville died at 4:45 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2002, at Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.

She was born July 31, 1943, in Browning Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Arthur and Louise Dosier Davis. She married Gary Thomas Nov. 10, 1961, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, David (and Joni); one daughter Brenda (and Tom) Howard; and three grandchildren, Ryan and Kayla Thomas and Nicholas Howard, all of Rushville; two brothers, Herbert Gene Davis of Arkansas, and Stanley Davis of Decatur; and two sisters, Betty Freeman of Springfield, and Ina Willis of Table Grove.

She was a homemaker. She also worked at Dean's Dairy, the A & P Grocery, Davis IGA, Hornsby's Variety Store and the Coast-to-Coast Store, all in Rushville. She was employed for 12 years at the Schuyler County Sheriff's Department.

She was a member of the Illinois Sheriff's Secretary's Association, East Union Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, president of Schuyler County Crimestoppers, and a volunteer EMT for the Schuyler County Ambulance Service.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Rushville with Rev. Scott Henley and Rev. E. Ambrose Stump officiating. Burial will be in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Schuyler County Crimestoppers of Schuyler Sheriff's Auxiliary.
