Wayne Thomas, 68, of Summum, died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 1996, at his home.

He was born April 16, 1928, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a son of Guy F. and Estella Bergquist Thomas. He married Dorothy Henning Reeves on Nov. 23, 1973, in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, David Reeves of Camanche, Iowa, Richard Reeves of Princeton, Iowa, and Dr. Chris Thomas of Manitowoc, Wis.; two daughters, Mrs. Ward (Rebecca) Rivenburg of Richmond, Texas, and Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Justman of Davenport, Iowa; two sisters, Betty Phillips of Peoria and Twila Orr of Rushville; one brother, Willard “Pill” Thomas of Summum; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Two brothers preceded him in death.

An Army and Navy veteran, he was a member of Astoria American Legion Post 25 and Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001. He was a plumber for 37 years and retired in 1987 from Petersen Plumbing and Heating Co. in Davenport.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria where visitation will be two hours earlier. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park in Davenport.

Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program in Macomb.
