Leslie E. Thompson, 89, of Rushville, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 1985, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
He was born Dec. 19, 1895, in Schuyler County, a son of Edward and Etheleen Kelly Thompson. He married Beulah Strong Nov. 5, 1913, in St. Louis, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Paul of Palm Desert, Calif., Dwight of Rushville and Rudy of Colleyville, Texas; one daughter, Margaret Hollenback of Astoria; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert of Memphis, Tenn.; and one sister, Mary Roudebush of Abingdon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ralph; a great-grandson; and seven brothers.
He farmed until 1960 and was employed by Thompson Plumbing and Heating Shop until 1970 when he retired. He was a member of Rushville Free Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the free Methodist Church of Rushville with Rev. Marvin Chalfant officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
