Charles W. Taylor, 72, of 329 N. Mechanic, Macomb, died at his home Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 1, 1985.
Born Jan. 22, 1913, in Macomb to William and Grace Kearby Taylor, he married Evelyn Whitehead Oct. 8, 1935 in Roodhouse.
Their 50th wedding anniversary celebration was to be next Sunday.
A resident of this area all his life, he was a Civilian Conservation Corps sergeant in 1934-35; he farmed several years and was employed by Haeger Pottery 17 years.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Peggy Milby of Vermont, Mrs. Sandra Brown of Macomb; three sons, Bill of Industry, Jim of Macomb and Rudy of Denver, Colo.; a foster child, Denise Hartley of Macomb, who lived in the Taylor home 14 years; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Taylor of Puyallup, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Early of Galesburg, and Mrs. Valda Durham of Fort Worth, Tex.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Clugston Chapel, where services will be at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. Jim Hussey officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
