Donald Taylor Accident Victim

Donald Taylor, 62, of rural Rushville died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1980, when his tractor overturned and caught fire pinning him underneath.

Taylor was hauling logs out of a forested area when one of them caught on a tree, forcing the tractor to overturn.

He was born Mar. 10, 1918, in East Peoria, a son of Louis and Emma Schneider Taylor. He married Rose Alig Nov. 20, 1971, in Morton.

Surviving are his wife; his mother of East Peoria; two sons, Chris and Kendall, both of Rushville; three daughters, Mrs. Donna Conrad of Kendallsville, Ind., and Misses Vicki and Cheryl Taylor, both of Rushville; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Zilch of East Peoria; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and one son.

He was owner of Taylor Machine and Manufacturing Co., East Peoria, and Taylor Hydraulics Co., Rushville. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, East Peoria; Peoria Lodge AF&AM; Scottish Rite Bodies; and Mohammed Temple, Shrine.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at LeRoy Schmidt Memorial Chapel in East Peoria with Rev. H. Leland Walls officiating. Burial was in Fondulac Cemetery, East Peoria.

Memorials may be made to Culbertson Memorial Hospital or Schuyler County Mental Health Flag Football program.
