Mrs. Nettie G. Thomas, 81, of Vermont died at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville at 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
She was born in Eldorado Township, McDonough County, on Oct. 19, 1888, the daughter of Jacob G. and Annie Sophia Hoopes Hamm. She married Bret H. Thomas in Roodhouse on Oct. 22, 1908 and he died June 24, 1968.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Methodist Church and Harmony Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Hodges of Macomb; eight sons, Stanton of Peoria, Julian of Galesburg, Norman and James of Dixon, Sidney of Vermont, Edwin of Joliet, David of Springfield, and Pierre of Brandon, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Cox of Canton; and one brother, Arthur Hamm of Moline. She was also preceded in death by two sons and one brother.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. E. W. Dunavin officiating. Burial was in the Vermont Cemetery.
