Margaret Patricia Hodges, 84, of Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb, died there at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 1996.
She was born July 29, 1911, in Vermont, the daughter of Brett and Nettie Hamm Thomas. She married Delbert H. Hodges on July 23, 1943, in Macomb. He died Aug. 7, 1969. Four brothers also preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons, Donald L. Hodges of Macomb and Russell L. Hodges of Galesburg; two daughters, Nancy J. Reed of Macomb and Patricia A. DeGryse of Coupeville, Wash.; six brothers, Sydney Thomas of Vermont, David Thomas of Springfield, Norman Thomas of Dixon, Edwin Thomas of Joliet, Julian Thomas of Galesburg and Pierre Thomas of Spring Hill, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
She was a member of First Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Monday at her church with Rev. James Stovall officiating. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
