John H. Stambaugh, 71, of Bader died at 11:16 p.m. Nov. 22, 2024, at his home.John H. Stambaugh, 71, of Bader died at 11:16 p.m. Nov. 22, 2024, at his home.
He was born July 21, 1953, in Astoria, a son of Willard and Mary Kennison Stambaugh.
Surviving are his significant other, Brenda Powell of Bader; three sons, Jason Stambaugh and Matthew (and Kayla McCombs) Stambaugh, both of Astoria, and Joshua Stambaugh of Rushville; one brother, Jack (and Lily) Stambaugh of Bader; one sister; Patricia (and Mark) Lund of Astoria; one granddaughter; two step granddaughters; and one step great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary, Joyce and Samantha; and three brothers, Carroll, Jimmy and Arthur “Bud”.
He was a carpenter and worked with his brothers, Stambaugh Brothers Construction. He also was a skilled mechanic, working for Curly’s Auto Repair in Astoria for several years.
A graveside service was held Tuesday in the South Fulton Cemetery in Astoria with Pastor Matt Haberman officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
