She was born July 1, 1925, in McDonough County, the daughter of Jesse and Gladys (Hawkins) Porter. She married Howard Stambaugh on Oct. 9, 1948, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2014.
She also was preceded in death by her siblings.
Surviving are two nieces, Barbara (and Scott) Harris of Browning and Karen (and Gary Smith) Lowe of Glasford; and two nephews, Aaron (and Laura) Winner and Alvin (and Hannah Ester) Winner, both of Rushville.
She was a custodian at Browning Grade School for 35 years, retiring in 1985. She resided with Russell and Florine Johnson and later Orville and Irene Johnson while working on their farms.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will be held in the Sheldons Grove Cemetery at a later date.
