Terry J. Stiles, 82, of Rushville died at 5:30 a.m. May 8, 2024, at his home.
He was born March 6, 1942, in Virginia, Ill., a son of Donald and Dorothy Bateman Stiles. He married Roberta Gorsuch on Aug. 21, 1976, in Beardstown. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Tony Royer of Rushville; one sister, Donna Fretueg of Rushville; two nieces, Dana Renee and Dawn Michelle; one nephew, David Troy; and one grandson, Matthew Royer of Bluffs.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Ben Royer; and one brother, Richard Stiles.
He was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam receiving The Purple Heart for wounds in combat.
He was employed by Oscar Meyer before becoming a meat inspector for the federal government. As a meat inspector he worked at Excel and Cargill before retiring.
Funeral services were held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating. Inurnment was in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia with Military Honors.
