Richard H. Strode, 85, of Browning died at 7:43 p.m. April 3, 2024, at his home.
He was born April 28, 1938, in Cuba, a son of Robert and Cora Sinnett Strode. He married Judith Kite on Dec. 14, 1957, in Cuba. She preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2015.
He also was preceded in death by one grandson, Casey Kelly; and one son-in-law, Mark Fyffe.
Surviving are two daughters, Michele Fyffe of Phoenix, Ariz., and Cheryl (and Richard Bigham) Strode of Beaverton, Mich.; one son, Michael (and Irma) Strode of Browning; one brother, Larry (and Toni) Strode of Smithfield; two sisters, Carolyn Schnarr of Cuba and Susan Clark of Urbana, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He served in the United States Army Reserves. He worked at Caterpillar as a Maintenance Machinist Journeyman for 38 years.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ben Murray officiating. A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. prior to the service. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service.
