She was born Jan. 30, 1935, in Boylston, Mass., the daughter of Joseph and Clara Abshire Friend. She married Harold Eugene Simpson on June 20, 1953, in Boylston. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2007.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Ron Friend.
Surviving are one daughter, Sherry (and Steve) Hoerr-Bradley of Morton; one son, Mike (and Gina) Simpson of Lewistown; and three grandchildren.
She was a teller for the Astoria Savings and Loan for many years until her retirement. She also assisted in the management of the Astoria South Fulton Senior Center in Astoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Brian Ebbert officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place in Good Hope Cemetery in rural Rushville at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria South Fulton Senior Center or the Fulton County Animal Shelter.
