Harold SimpsonHarold A. Simpson, 75, of Astoria died at 8:45 a.m. March 12, 2007, at his home.

He was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Rushville, a son of Chester and Minnie Campbell Simpson. He married Catharine Friend on June 20, 1953, in Boylston, Mass. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Sherry (and Steve) Bradley of Groveland; one son, Mike (and Gina) of Lewistown; one sister, Leona M. Fusselman of Littleton, Colo.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles.

He was a United States marine, serving in the 1st Marine Division during the Korean War from 1951-1953 with the rank of sergeant.

He was a truck driver for Dooley Brothers in Peoria for 18 years, hauling dynamite. He also farmed in the Astoria area.

Private family services will be held at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.

Memorials may be made to Astoria Rescue Squad.
