Todd StambaughTodd Andrew Stambaugh, 53, of Astoria died at 8:22 p.m. at home, surrounded by family, on March 5, 2022, after a 16-month battle with Glioblastoma.

He was born June 28, 1968, in Rushville, a son of Virgil Lee and Opalene Trone Stambaugh. He married Kathryn Ann Bemis on June 2, 1996. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Nick (and Tabitha) Rittenhouse and Joel (and Katie) Rittenhouse, both of Astoria; one daughter, Samantha Stambaugh (and Bryan Pasley) of Astoria; his mother, Opal Stambaugh of Astoria; one sister, Jody (and Kevin) Kolves of Astoria; one brother, Tim (and Shannon) Stambaugh of Bardolph; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Stambaugh; one sister, Jenny Hendricks; and three great nephews, Dakota, Archer, and Ransom Corrick.

He was a firm follower of Jesus. He was a lifelong member and also a deacon of Astoria Christian Church. He enjoyed volunteering at Lamoine Christian Camp. He was always inclined towards mechanics. He and his friend, Marty Hulett, owned and operated their own business together, H & S Car Care, in 1990-93. For the last 24 years, he worked with many people that were like his bonus family at what is now Onken’s, Inc.

An open house memorial will be held at Astoria Christian Church on Sunday, March 20th, at approximately 11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to be held in June. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.
