John StambaughJohn William Stambaugh, 95, of Bushnell, formerly of Rushville, died at 4:50 a.m. Dec. 26, 2021, at The Elms in Macomb.

He was born Sept. 9, 1926, in Browning, a son of Harry and Edith Groves Stambaugh. He married Mary Lou Boyd on May 20, 1950, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Cindy (and Jeff) Ervin of Rushville and Joni (and Marty) Briney of Dahinda; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and George Stambaugh; and two sisters, Lenora Dixon and Arlene Burgard.

He was employed for the Department of Conservation as the site manager at Sanganois Conservation Area for over 30 years.

He was a member of Browning United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Marty Briney and Pastor Charla Meyers officiating. Burial will follow in Browning Cemetery with Military Honors by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and U.S. Army Honors Detail. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
