She was born June 25, 1926, in Woodstock Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Glenn B. and Velma Fretueg Stivers. She married Earl Smith on Dec. 7, 1947, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2005.
She also was preceded in death by four sisters, Louise Davis-McMillan, Minnie Dupoy-Arnold, Sophie Irwin and Mary Ann Tucker; and one brother, Richard Stivers.
Surviving are three children, Renee (and George) Roodhouse and Michael (and Brenda) Smith, both of Macomb and Susan (and David) Rehn of Woodhull; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was employed for more than 30 years by Nature House in Griggsville, where she inspected and framed wildlife prints.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Dr. Scott Grulke officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
