He was born April 24, 1955, in Beardstown, a son of Richard Eugene and Royna Lee Meyer Stambaugh.
Surviving are one brother, Michael Stambaugh of Beardstown; and two sisters, Mary (and Steve) Potter and Nina Stambaugh, both of Frederick.
He worked on the Illinois River for many years and was a farmer.
Private family burial will be held on the family lot at Messerer Cemetery near Frederick.
