Willis Smith

Willis “Bill” Dean Smith, 69, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Readsboro, Vt., died Sept. 21, 2017, after a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 11, 1947, in Rushville, a son of Paul and Marjorie Haney Smith. He married Geraldine L. Comai on Nov. 15, 1969, in Readsboro, Vt. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Randall (and Michelle) Smith of Williamstown, Mass.; two daughters, Allison (and Scott) Labor of Morgan, Vt., and Ashley (and Jake) Leonard of Berlin, N.Y.; one sister, Sandra Sue (and Barry) Beck of Astoria; three brothers, Terry (and Susie) Smith of Vermont, Russell Smith (and Dave Lindsay) of Tampa, Fla., and Mark (and Lisa) Smith of Austin, Texas; and four grandchildren.

He graduated from VIT High School in Table Grove in 1965, and served two tours in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Division. He was employed by Brookfield Power Company until his retirement in 2013.
