He was born Feb. 6, 1996, in DeKalb, Ga., the son of Robert Wayne and Dawn Golden Smith Jr.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, Robert Wayne “Bobby” (and Bridget) Smith Jr. of Mount Carroll; mother and stepfather, Dawn (and Jay) Powell of Sterling; paternal grandparents, Robert (and Becky) Smith Sr. of Astoria and Peggy (and George) Quinn of Rushville; step grandparents, Dennis (and Deb) Plattenberger and Kristine Plattenberger, all of Mount Carroll, and Terry Powell of Sterling; two sisters, 2nd Lt. Golden Elise (and Justin) Andrzejewski of El Paso, Texas, and Bailey Dawn Smith of Sterling; one stepsister, Sydnie Powell of Sterling; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ted (and Mary Catherine) Golden; and his step grandmother, Pat Powell.
He had worked as a roofer and also as a route assistant for Cintas.
Services were held Sunday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Mike Courson officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
