Donald Schisler

Donald Ray Schisler, 78, of Macon, Mo., died Feb. 15, 2016, at the Samaritan Hospital in Macon.

He was born May 11, 1937, in Fulton County, a son of Lyle and Modell Hampton Schisler. He married Lueann Danner on Dec. 23, 1962, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Monte Schisler of Branson, Mo., Denise Schisler of Moberly, Mo., and Robin (and Tim) Rainey of Columbia, Mo.; one brother, Jim Schisler of Merritt Island, Fla.; one sister, Pam Fairburn of Rockledge Fla.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Pauline Schisler; stepfather, Red Fairburn; and one sister, Marcia Fairburn.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-58.

He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church of Macon and retired from Associated Electric Co-op in 1993.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Bro. Matt Steiger officiating. Burial, with full Military Honors, will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Mo. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Tri County Christian School.
