She was born July 10, 1940, in Blue Island, a daughter of Alden and Hila Howland Schulz. She married Roy W. Surber Jr. on June 21, 1959, in Lockport. He preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 2012.
Surviving are one daughter, Tamara (and Brian) Welty of Rushville; one sister, Marsha (and Jim) O’Sullivan of Connecticut; one brother, Jeff Schulz of Florida; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She and her husband were partners in Surber and Genseal Meat Processing for several years and she worked in the boot department at Farm King in Macomb until retiring.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Palm Cemetery west of Rushville. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the funeral home.
