Kermit SchrammKermit William Schramm, 89, of Rushville died at 8:35 p.m. Nov. 27, 2015, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.

He was born Dec. 10, 1925, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, a son of Maurice M. and Olive T. Chute Schramm. He married Barbara G. Roudebush on Oct. 4, 1949, in Quincy. She preceded him in death on July 1, 1987.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Robert Schramm; and two sisters, Mary Gilson and Ada Ducy.

Surviving are one son, William “Bill” (and Ann) Schramm of Leroy; two daughters, Sue (and Don) Behymer of Petersburg and Debbie (and Keith) Kramer of Ft. Myers, Fla.; one brother, Kenneth Schramm of Rushville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was a Tec. Sgt. in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.

He was a printer and type setter for The Rushville Times for 47 years before retiring as print foreman.

He was a 50-year member of the Rushville Lodge #9 AF & AM; a member and past commander of the Rushville Commandery #56, Knights Templar; a member of the Rushville Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star; a past patron and member of Macomb Chapter #123; Rushville Council #88; Lusk Chapter #20; Royal Arch Masons of IL; and the Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Kay Daniel officiating. Burial with Military Honors by a U.S. Army Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4 will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Masonic Services at the conclusion of the visitation.
