Kenneth SchrammKenneth Homer Schramm, 98, of Rushville died at 11:05 a.m. April 2, 2016, at Rushville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

He was born Nov. 10, 1917, in Woodstock Township, Schuyler County, a son of Maurice M. and Olive T. Chute Schramm. He married Norah Teresa Harrison on May 16, 1947, in Monmouth. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2000.

He also was preceded in death by one great-grandson; three brothers, Kermit, Charles and Robert Schramm; and two sisters, Mary Gilson and Ada Ducy.

Surviving are two sons, Keith B. (and Nancy) Schramm of Beardstown and David M. (and Vicki) Schramm of Algonquin; four daughters, Sandra (and Jim) Utter, Karen S. (and Mike) Webster, Janene Thompson Painter and Terri A. (and Gene) Haines, all of Rushville; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a staff sergeant stationed at Burtonwood Army Air Force base in Burtonwood, England.

He was a farmer, worked at International Harvester in Canton and was a carpenter with J. Milton Haber. He then worked for the U.S. Post Office for over 23 years until retiring in 1982. After retiring, he did lawn care for churches, cemeteries and residences. He was a lifetime member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a member of the American Postal Workers Union.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Jerimy Wooley and Rev. Brian Utter officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery with military honors by a U.S. Army Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4.
