She was born April 3, 1929, in Beardstown, a daughter of Roland and Cecile Griffin Cooper. She married Phillip Dayle Stambaugh on Nov. 22, 1946, in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2003.
She also was preceded in death by five sisters, Lorreta Cooper, Maxine Kuhlman, Patricia Hoosier, Eileen Bowers and Barbara Fowler; and two brothers, William and Rolland Cooper.
Surviving are one daughter, Rita (and Larry) Cunningham of Vermont; one brother, Donald (and Shirley) Cooper of Beardstown; two grandchildren, Lisa (and Scott) Fawcett of Princeton and Lora (and Scott) Adcock of Plymouth; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Bader Christian Church, Astoria American Legion Auxiliary and she was one of the Golden Gals.
Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Matt Haberman officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
