Stephen J. “Rocky” Shaffer, 61, of Ipava died at 10:35 p.m. Jan. 25, 2014, at Mason District Hospital Emergency Room in Havana.
He was born Dec. 21, 1952, in Canton, the son of Dewey “Rocky” and Willadean Danner Shaffer. He married Peggy Bradfield on Dec. 28, 1976, in Astoria.
Surviving are one son, Cory Shaffer of Ipava; one daughter, Amy Jo Shaffer of Ipava; his mother, Willadean Shaffer of Astoria; and one sister, Connie (and Steve) Merrick of Astoria.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey “Rocky” Shaffer.
He worked for International Harvester in Canton, Norris Farms in Havana and for Lewistown Ag in Lewistown.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Gary Sheets officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
