She was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Rushville, a daughter of Pierce and Frances Carroll Beatty. She was raised by her stepfather, Charles Bollinger. She married Robert D. Self in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1985.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Peterman.
Surviving are two sons, John (and Marilyn) Frank of Bardolph and Robert Self of Bowen; three daughters, Angela Ross of Macomb, Brenda Gossage of Clearwater, Fla., and Vivian Schroeder of Astoria; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She worked as a CNA for many years. She also was a licensed cosmetologist.
She was a member of Astoria Christian Church.
Private graveside services will be held at Astoria Cemetery with Ben Peterman officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
