She was born Oct. 24, 1931, in Browning, a daughter of Keith H. and Helen Rose Geer Aten. She married John Nelson Stambaugh on June 7, 1950, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2011.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Fred Stambaugh; and one brother, Robert "Bobby" Aten.
Surviving are three sons, Jim (and Sheila) Stambaugh of Springfield and John (and Jennifer) Stambaugh and Neal (and Beth) Stambaugh, both of Browning; one sister, Dr. Rosemary Aten of Macomb; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker. In her later years, she worked in housekeeping at Beardstown Hospital and retired as a nurse's aid at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.
She was a member of Browning Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with minister Matt Haberman officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. Burial will be in Browning Cemetery.
