She was born Oct. 23, 1920, in Ipava, a daughter of Edgar and Birdena Farris Thomas. She married Dwayne Shawgo on Dec. 22, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo. He died May 7, 1996.
She also was preceded in death by one grandson, two brothers, one sister, one stepsister and one stepbrother.
Surviving are one son, Franklin (and Rose) Shawgo of Lewistown; one daughter, Alice (and Howard) McAdams of Cuba; three brothers, Edgar Thomas of Canton, Aubrey (and Barbara) Thomas of Lewistown and Maurice (and Anita) Thomas of Cuba; two sisters, Beatrice Morse of Canton and Charlotte Lannery of Naperville; one stepsister, Donna O’Donnel of Canton; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She retired from Dana Corporation in Havana.
She was a member of Shields Chapel United Methodist Church.
Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Rick Atchley officiating. Burial was in White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
