Floyd SchislerFloyd W. Schisler, 82, of Astoria died at 4:56 p.m. Nov. 28, 2007, at Snyders Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

He was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Astoria Township, Fulton County, a son of Ray H. and Emma Derry Schisler. He married Dorothy Stambaugh on Sept. 8, 1946, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Bernard (and Pat) Schisler of Greenview, Stanley Schisler of Canton, Wendell (and Karen) Schisler, Eldon (and Becky) Schisler and Tim (and Diane) Schisler, all of Astoria; two brothers, Lloyd (and Nancy) Schisler of Rushville and Raymond (and Maureen) Schisler of Lewistown; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother, George Schisler.

He was a farmer. He began working for Astoria Township in 1966 and was elected Astoria Township Road Commissioner in 1978 and served until his retirement in 1994.

He was a member of Astoria Assembly of God Church and Township Officials of Illinois.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Gary Schluckebier and Pastor Charles Hadsall officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.
