Surviving are her husband, Joseph F. Skillen; four sons, Richard, Jerry (and Mary Ann), Robert (and Janice), and John (and Debbie); three daughters, Nancy Skillen, Mary Acker and Jo Ann (and Robert) Stambaugh; one sister, Mary Lammie; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Charles Earl Bowen; and two sisters, Elisabeth "Betty" Benchik and Margaret Bowen.
Services were held Oct. 9 at St. Hugh Church. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice. Foran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Hospice, Burr Ridge, Ill., or to the American Heart Association.
