Barbara Stoops

Barbara StoopsBarbara A. Stoops, 66, of Ipava died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at Marigold Health Care Center in Galesburg.

She was born Dec. 27, 1936, in Canton, a daughter of Rollie and Helen Matthews Lindbloom. She married Paul N. Stoops on Oct. 26, 1958, in Canton. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Lynn Stoops of Acworth, Ga., Debra (and Robert) Chastenn of Lewistown and Connie (and John) Roberts of Pawnee; two sons, Dr. Bruce (and Angie) of Quincy and Brian (and Kim) of Divernon; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (and Theresa) Lindbloom of Highstown, N.J.

A 1957 graduate of Graham School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse at Mason County Health Department WIC program for eight years, American Nursing Home in Macomb, Clarytona Nursing Home in Lewistown and Astoria Healthcare Center, before retiring in 1995.

She was a member of Ipava United Presbyterian Church, where services were held Tuesday with Rev. William Bodamer officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.
