Edith L. Shields, 86, of rural Ipava died at 1:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Astoria Healthcare Center in Astoria.
She was born March 31, 1914, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, the daughter of Fred and Zona Camp Erb. She married Verne Shields on Aug. 31, 1937, in Keokuk, Iowa. He survives.
Also surviving is one son, Ron (and Judy) of Pekin.
One brother preceded her in death.
She was a member of Isabel Church in Lewistown and the U Go I Go Club of Astoria.
Services were held today at 11 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Clifford Parry officiating. Burial was in Summum Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Summum Cemetery or to the Central Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in Peoria.
