Irene Scott, 93, of Astoria, died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 1996, at Prairie City Nursing Center in Prairie City.
She was born Nov. 5, 1902, in Schuyler County, a daughter of James and Estella Persinger Ward. She married John C. Scott on July 21, 1921, in Macomb. He died March 4, 1989. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Campbell, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Richard Scott of Bushnell; three granddaughters, Sherilyn Pazara of Havana, Sally Spatafore of Canton and Julia Gleason of Fairfield, Iowa; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. James Shirley officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
